Background:

The Afghanistan Independent Bar Association (AIBA) is a statutory body, created pursuant to the Advocates Law, that license and regulates the defense advocate profession in Afghanistan. The AIBA was created in 2008 and so far it has continuously provided services to its members and to the public such as: advocate licensing and discipline, pro bono assistance for indigent accused and legal trainings.

The AIBA head office is located in Kabul. It has  regional offices in Kunduz-Mazar-e-Sharif-Herat-Jalalabad and Kandahar provinces.

Currently Afghanistan Independent Bar Association has approximately 4500 members. It expects to grow its membership to more than 5000 by the end of 2019 and with it the demand from its members for quality continuing legal education.

Job Summary:

 

The Admin & Finance Assistant will be assigned to help office managers, manage the advocates’ professional stage program in Herat, Balkh, Konduz, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces.

He/she will ensure sound management of advocate’s stage program and shall carry jobs in line with the approved guidelines. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Manage advocate Stage program in relevant province.

·         Registers applicants for advocate’s stage program.

·         Drafts correspondences.

·         Record training of trainers and prepare trainers attendances accordingly.

·         Prepare monthly progress report

·         Enter and update the relevant databases

·         Arrange AIBA education committee meetings and discuss stage progresses.

·         Oversee the implementation of lessons plan for stage and monitor on regular basis

·         Arrange staff meetings and circulate the minutes.

·         Manage file and records.

·         Perform other jobs as assigned by line manager. 

Qualifications

 

At least Bachelor degree in BBA, economic, Law or any other related field.

۳ yrs of direct experience of administration and program operation

Proven skills in Micro soft word, Excel, MS Access and power point presentation

Fluent spoken in one of national languages  and English

Proven skills in report writing

Abilities to meet the deadlines, stay organized and work under pressure as part of a team or independently as needed

Being initiative and high motivation to the job.

Good skills in public relations.

Reporting Line: Regional Office Managers and head office. 

Qualifications and required skills:
